During the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, I was hired to entertain at the equestrian venue. One morning a huge bus arrived carrying at least fifty balloon twisting, evangelical church clowns from Tennessee. They all had balloon pumps--not one of them could actually blow up a balloon without a pump. After they all got off the bus and were gathered around me, I stopped juggling, pulled out a single red balloon from my pocket, took a deep breath, and inflated the balloon to four feet in length with one mighty blow. The clowns stared in disbelief and launched into applause. A few started to bow down with arms out as a toung-in-cheek form of respect. I still feel a bit smug about the scene to this day.
